Matthew Wright

GAT NATION is proud to have represented NFL kicker Matt Wright.

GAT NATION represented Matthew Wright from 2019 until July 2023. During that time, GAT NATION secured excellent opportunities for Matt on several teams, including several permanent or semi-permanent spots as detailed below as well as dozens of workouts throughout the years.

In the 2022 season, Matt Wright played in two games for the Kansas City Chiefs and four games for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Matt hit a career long 59-yard field goal during week 5.

As a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Matt had a standout 2021 season. In only 15 games, Matt finished the season 21/24 (87.5%) on FGs, with a career long 56-yard FG. PFF graded Matt as a top-12 kicker in 2021, and he was ranked 9th in WAR ("Wins Above Replacement"). Matt was responsible for two of the Jaguars' three wins. His memorable 53-yard field goal as time expired in London snapped the Jaguars' franchise record 20-game losing streak. In Week 6, Matt became the first kicker in NFL history to make multiple field goals of 50-plus yards in the last four minutes of the fourth quarter of a single game and became the only Jaguar ever to make two 50-plus yard field goals in the fourth quarter. As a result, he earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week Honors.

In 2020, Matt kicked in 3 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he went a perfect 3/3 on FGs and 4/4 on PATs.

Matt graduated from the University of Central Florida and left as the school's all-time points leader. After the 2019 draft, GAT NATION worked to place him in Steeler's training camp in 2019, where he earned the opportunity to compete and ultimately split pre-season kicks. Matt has had numerous workouts during his NFL career, including with teams such as the Patriots, Browns, Colts, and Lions.
